100 Day Hooligans!
We Celebrated the 100th Day the Kindergarten Way!

January 23rd was the 100th day of school! We have been counting up to this day since the very first day of Kindergarten! The students celebrated by dressing up as 100-year old fogies! They were so adorable. These little ones are definitely artists - fantastic acting! We had lots of 100 day fun. Here are a few pictures that I wanted to share! The costumes were very creative. Some proudly brought Nana's pocketbook, glasses were borrowed from Grampa, and even a few canes showed up. I wonder whose Grampa had to sit in his rocker until the kiddos got home from school to return their canes! I am really glad that no one decided to borrow Granny's dentures!
Mustaches were a big hit with the boys. I love how serious they get when they dress up. We filled the day with stories about the 100th day. We sang songs to count to 100 by 5s and 10s. We did workshops to count to 100. We worked with our 8th Grade Buddies to plan a 100 project together. The kids chose a classroom manipulative and counted out 100 pieces, then they planned a design to share with the class. The kids had a great time. But I do think their favorite part was eating 100 things. We even made a class book entitled "I Could Eat 100!" They will be checking it out and bringing it home soon. We mixed up our 100 Day Heavenly Hash. Mrs. Smith brought in marshmallows, pretzels, cereal, cheese crackers, butterscotch chips, chocolate chips, Cookie Crisp cereal, raisins and M&Ms. The students went to each bowl and counted out 10 items. Once they counted 10 of 10 different snacks, they put it in a bag and ate it for snack. It was a lot of fun and yummy too!
